Microstructure and Wear Behaviors of Plasma-Sprayed MoAlB Ceramic Coating

MoAlB ceramic coatings were prepared on a 316 steel surface by atmospheric plasma spraying with different arc power levels. The phase composition, microstructure and wear resistance of against GCr15 Si3N4 counterparts studied. decomposed was oxidized to form MoB Al2O3 during spraying. With the increase power, experienced more decomposition, but became denser. When increased from 30 36 kW, rates balls reduced 91% 78%, respectively. characterization tracks shows that when counterparts, main mechanisms are abrasive adhesive wear, fatigue dominant. refinement increasing can be attributed improvement density strength among splats.
